There's no such thing as a quiet day in Night City. Seems something interesting is always unfolding ‘round here. But hey, that’s a good thing — means you'll have dozens of opportunities to capture the moment and join our Photo Mode Challenge for a shot at some killer Cyberpunk prizes.

RULES

People and machines. Flesh and metal. Blood and CHOOH2. These dualities will be the theme for the two main categories of the 3.0 edition of our Photo Mode Challenge. You’ll find all you need to know for tuning your Kiroshi optics to snap a winning shot:

Here’s what you need to keep in mind if you want to participate:

Do:

  • Use only the in-game Photo Mode to take the screenshot you wish to submit.

  • Use any and all features available in the Photo Mode — no limits here!

  • Make sure your screenshot aligns with the chosen category’s theme.

Do not:

  • Edit the screenshot using any external software beyond flipping or cropping.

  • Submit more than one screenshot per category.

From all the entries submitted in each category, a jury consisting of CD PROJEKT RED team members and selected virtual photographers will pick three winning submissions. The creators of these top submissions will be awarded a set of prizes.

Important: We want as many mercs as possible to rise and become legends. So, keep in mind: while you can submit an entry in each of the two categories, once you’ve claimed a win, you can’t score another.

Wheels of Night City
Crank up your favorite song or station to the max and head out anywhere in the city or outside it, or stake out a busy intersection in search of killer automotive shots. Your target: any machine running a set of rubber and a roaring, CHOOH2-pumping heart.
Faces of Night City
Say 'Che-e-e-ese!' No matter what anyone tells you, the real heartbeat of a city — yes, even one as consumed by tech and cyberware as Night City — is its people. Flesh-and-blood (with a pinch of chrome, too), souls who love, hate, and, well... bleed. In this category, your mission is to capture the essence of human nature through the faces of Night City’s residents — whatever the circumstances the dark future has pulled them into.

FAQ

1. HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?

Just take some cool pics using the in-game Photo Mode and fill out the submission form above to enter. Good luck!

2. HOW MANY SCREENSHOTS CAN I SUBMIT?

You can only submit one entry per category. Once you enter a screenshot into a given category, you won’t be able to submit another one, so make it count!

3. CAN I PARTICIPATE IN MANY CATEGORIES?

Yes, you can participate in all categories. That said, you will only be able to win one category, even if you have sent in submissions for multiple.

4. WHEN CAN I SUBMIT MY SCREENSHOTS?

The deadline for submissions is January 7th, 2025.

5. HOW AND WHEN WILL WINNERS BE CHOSEN?

Winners will be chosen by a dedicated Cyberpunk 2077 Photo Mode Challenge jury. We’ll announce the winners on the game’s social media channels as well as on the challenge website within a month of the competition's submissions deadline.

6. WHO WILL BE THE JURY?

The jury consists of select virtual photographers and CD PROJEKT RED employees, including in-game photography, in-engine, art, and storytelling professionals, as well as members of the Community team.

7. WHERE CAN I FIND THE FULL SET OF RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE PHOTO MODE CHALLENGE?

8. CAN I SHARE A SCREENSHOT I SUBMITTED INTO THE PHOTO MODE CHALLENGE ON MY SOCIAL MEDIA?

Of course you can!. It is your work of art, after all. :)

9. WILL YOU USE SCREENSHOTS I SUBMITTED TO THE CONTEST LATER IN ANY WAY?

We will be sharing all winning screenshots across Cyberpunk 2077’s social media platforms and on the Photo Mode Challenge website when announcing the results of each challenge. We might also share other entries to highlight the amazing work and creativity of our community.

10. CAN I USE ANY COMMUNITY-CREATED MODS FOR CYBERPUNK 2077 WHEN COMPOSING MY SCREENSHOT? CAN I EDIT THE SCREENSHOT USING ANY GRAPHIC SOFTWARE BEFORE SUBMITTING?

Community-created mods are allowed to be featured in your screenshot, but they shouldn’t be the main focus of your submission and cannot drastically change the game (e.g. by swapping entire character models).
